Dr. Mridu Chaudhry is a practicing Optometrist. She got certified in the field of Optometry from School of Optometry and Vision Sciences, University of Waterloo, ON. Prior to this, she had completed her graduate and post-graduate studies in Ophthalmology followed by residency from Medical School in India. She did fellowships in Phacoemulsification and Glaucoma diagnosis and treatment. She served as Head of Department of Ophthalmologic Surgery in a Medical School before moving to Canada. Her duties involved managing patients with eye disorders and also, teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate students in Ophthalmologic Surgery. She provided eye surgical services at more than 200 eye camps to help people of rural India. She has active interest in research activities and has numerous publications in several esteemed International Medical Journals. She is a member of editorial review committee of many peer-reviewed International Medical Research Journals. She has presented many papers in National and International Conferences. She is a life member of Indian Medical Association and All India Ophthalmological Society.
After moving to Canada, she re-qualified as licensed Optometrist. With her vast experience as an Ophthalmologist and as an Optometrist, she has the requisite knowledge and expertise to provide quality eye care for people of all ages. She manages various types of emergency and non-emergency eye conditions and specializes in diagnosis and management of glaucoma and pediatric vision care. She is an active member of Ontario Association of Optometrists and is affiliated with various Laser Centres in and around Greater Toronto Area for laser surgery co-management. Her ability to develop quick and lasting bond with young children makes them feel as ease during diagnosis and treatment of binocular vision and especially during prescription glasses and contact lens fitting. She is multilingual and provides Optometry services in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.
She is very passionate about her work and strives to provide state-of-the-art exceptional eye care services to patients at reasonable cost. By virtue of her experience as a medical school tutor, she has tremendous patience and understanding and takes pride in not just providing the best treatment, but also educating her patients about their ocular health and future wellness.
